Baby Jace Countdown… 3 More Days!

We took this picture on New Year’s Day, so I’m actually just about 39 weeks now. The quality isn’t great because it was in a dim room at night, but it’s better than nothing.

I figure I’ll do one last pregnancy questionnaire….

How far along? 38 weeks and 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: I’m up about 20 lbs from where I started

Sleep: I can’t. I wake up constantly, either from intense Braxton Hicks, heartburn, back pain, needing to pee, or pain from turning over.

Food cravings: cheerios with milk, and I always have to have access to ice water

Movement: He’s definitely slowed down on the kicks and turns, but when he moves, it’s pretty crazy to watch the shapes my stomach makes.

Gender: still a boy, confirmed at my 36 week ultrasound

Stretchmarks: I have a lovely purple spider web around my belly button

Belly Button in or out? Out. And stretched beyond it’s limits. Never going to be the same.

What I miss: Having my body to myself. Not being in pain. Moving without getting heartburn.

What I am looking forward to: My c-section Monday morning at 7:30am!

Symptoms: I think I’ve covered this already but… heartburn, back pain, pain in general, and now I’m starting to get swollen in my left ankle, feet, hands, and cheeks. I also had a higher blood pressure than normal at my (last!) doctor appointment yesterday, but it wasn’t enough for him to be concerned since I’m almost done.

Milestones: Almost finished!

Weekly Wisdom: One day at a time.

Emotions: General irritability has taken over at this point, but other than that, I am so ready to meet our baby boy!

At my 35 week ultrasound, the tech estimated his weight at 8.5 lbs that day. If she’s right, he’s going to be around 10 lbs when he’s born. I am REALLY hoping she was off a bit! Summer was 6 lbs 10 oz and Camryn was 7 lbs 5 oz. I doubt he was quite as big as she thought, although I sure feel like he is.

We’ve been passing illnesses around the house for the last few weeks. First a cold, then a bad cough, and then yesterday Camryn woke up with a fever. She was better today, so hopefully we can all get well and back to normal before Jace arrives.

Joe, the girls, and I (and a huge amount of family and friends) are all really anxious and excited… we’ll be spending the next few days cleaning, organizing, and making sure everything is in place for our new addition!

31 Weeks

25 Weeks.

Back again today because I have more belly pictures.

But first… I think I may have to go to my parents’ house and take pictures in this spot at this time of day more often. Love the sun.

Summer took a field trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. She had a ride on a horse, rode a tractor through a corn maze, and managed to pick out a symmetrical–looking pumpkin.

Joe is the only person I know who can work my camera, but he had to work today so I got the settings set and handed it to my mom, and she got some pretty good 25 week pictures for me.

I feel so big already, it’s hard to believe I still have 15 weeks to go.

Joe, the girls, and I went to Babies R Us last week to see if we could decide on some of the big stuff like the car seat, stroller, bed set, and swing. We got the swing chosen (this one – love it!) but we’re stuck on everything else. We scanned a whole bedroom set including bedding but a few minutes later I knew it wasn’t THE ONE. I’m not big on themes, and something about animals holding sports balls wasn’t doing it for me. This is most likely our last baby, plus when we had the girls we were in an apartment and were limited on decorating, so I’m wanting to go all out in the creativity department. To Pinterest I go!

The 24 Week Belly

Finally a baby belly picture! This was my first experience using the self-timer and manual mode at the same time. The lighting was weird and it took a few tries or focusing on Summer standing there and then shoving her out of the way and jumping in the frame before I got this one…

I was having a bad hair day.

The girls were watching me set up the camera and try it out, and every time I would get in front of the camera and the flash would go off successfully, they would clap. They know what makes mommy happy.

It's a Baby!

Some of you probably remember me talking about my friend, Audrey. She even made a blog awhile back, which she has been neglecting :-) Her pregnancy has been going well. Yesterday was her ultrasound, at 21 weeks. She found out that she is having a...



.......girl!!!! I'm excited. Having a boy around would be great, but I think it will be even better for Summer and Camryn to have a playmate to have sleepovers with and everything. Also, Audrey asked Joe and I to be the baby's Godparents! We're honored and happy that she thinks that highly of us. The baby's dad is a horrible piece of crap IMO, so she will definitely need someone to look up to, to know what a dad is supposed to be like. Joe's got his work cut out for him with all these girls!
