Crack and a Legacy

We have had a crazy last few days.

Last Monday, my great grandma stopped eating, and then developed pneumonia. At 90-years-old, her body could not recover from that. She spent a few days in the hospital, and then passed away with my dad and her daughter by her side. After having her around for so long, it almost seemed like she would be around forever. She was such a special lady. I will always be grateful that Summer and Camryn got to know her.

I had the lovely glucose test and a check-up at 9:20am yesterday. Camryn and I headed there after I dropped Summer off at school, and I was immediately handed a bottle of fruit punch and crack. I managed to get it down by reminding myself that I will never have to drink it again. I don’t think I will ever be able to forget that taste! I saw the doctor while I waited for the hour to be up. Everything looks great. I’m measuring perfectly, and Jace’s heartbeat was in the 130’s I believe. I’m at 142 lbs now. I can’t remember how much I weighed at my last visit, so that is fairly useless info, but I thought I’d share. My doctor said that if I don’t hear from him by Wednesday, then I passed the glucose test. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Right after my appointment was my great-grandma’s funeral. It was a really nice service. She had three children, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four (and a half) great-great-grandchildren. What a legacy!

Today was pretty normal. I got a bit of work done while Summer was at school, including re-designing Dirt and Lace Designs. I’m now open for business again after having to take things slow for awhile, so please let me know if you’re ready for a new blog look, a business card, etc.!

My car broke last week, and my parents have been kind enough to let me use their van. I never thought I would say this, but I am a total mini-van mom now. I love it! We had a dance party in the driveway a few days ago…
