Today at preschool, Summer has Sharing Day. Each kid got to bring a toy with them that they wanted to share with their classmates. Summer wanted to bring her Toy Story Jessie doll, but Jessie has stopped working. Joe even went out last night to get new batteries for her, but she’s still broken. I don’t think we’ll be spending $50 on a cheap, over-hyped toy again. She compromised and took Lotso Huggin' Bear instead.
I certainly wasn’t searching for compliments when I decided to write my last post, but I really appreciated your kind words about my endeavors. Thank you so much to all who read it all and especially those who left me a comment. Knowing I have your support is a great feeling!
I used a preset on this photo for the color but it didn’t really change her eyes… they really do look like that in the sunlight!
My great uncle Joe (my dad’s paternal uncle) passed away yesterday morning surrounded by his family. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer within the last year and hadn’t been doing too well for awhile. He was one of the few positive male influences my dad had growing up, and he and his wife were the only people from my dad’s dad’s side of the family to stop in to see Summer when she was born. He accomplished a lot in life… he received two purple hearts and was a police officer for years. I’d always enjoyed the company of “Uncle Joe Bill” and he will be greatly missed.
I promised Camryn a piece of gum for letting me take this picture. Bribery… works every time.
Tomorrow is my birthday. While getting older is not really fun anymore, I’m trying to enjoy it anyway! My Nanaw is taking me to lunch and then in the evening my mom is bringing some dinner over and then some friends are joining us for cake and ice cream after that. My Nanaw reminded me yesterday that this year is my Golden Birthday… I’m turning 24 on the 24th. Do you think that means my wish will actually come true this year?!
