Sleepover and a Fashion Show

Last night my friend Jillia’s 15-year-old cousin, Sarah, came to stay with us while her grandma (whom she lives with) went out of town overnight. It was the first time she had left her over night in 12 years, so a well-deserved trip if I say so myself!

Summer and Camryn were so excited to have someone over that wanted to play with them. Joe left to go hunting yesterday evening so us girls had free rein. They ran around like crazy for awhile, then we ordered a pizza and watched Freaky Friday.

Sarah was ready for bed around 9 and requested to sleep in the girls’ room on the floor. They kept her up till 11 talking and playing around… I saw glimpses of future sleepovers. And then I remembered what my friends and I used to do when we had sleepovers. And then I got scared. Truth or Dare, anyone?

This morning we had some Cheerios and then Summer and Camryn got into my dresser. They put on a mini fashion show for us… P.S.-Sorry for the quality of these pictures… I only have a point and shoot with no manual settings, you know. And yea, that was totally a hint to certain people that read this.

Before she left, we took a group shot. Sarah is an amazing girl. She was born with FAS, but that hasn’t stopped her from being in regular classes at school and getting straight A’s. She was also recently diagnosed with Glaucoma. The idea of losing your vision someday would frighten many people, but her spirit hasn’t seemed to waver. I’ve known her since she was about 4 and couldn’t be prouder of the young lady she is becoming.

I talked to Joe and he hadn’t gotten a deer. He still has one more chance this evening. He actually got one last weekend but it was pretty small so he wants to get at least one more.

Summer was invited to a birthday party today but I don’t think we’re going to make it. I feel bad that we are going to miss it… it’s one of the first birthday parties she’s been invited to and this little girl is one of her best friends at school. I think we will still get her a gift… is that proper preschool etiquette? I have no idea…

We are getting ready to go with my mom to visit the cemetery and see how my Grandmother’s grave site looks. It’s a beautiful day here in Kentucky, so I’m looking forward to getting out of the house and enjoying it before the inevitable cold front moves in.

Have a great Sunday!

Your girls are adorable together! I can't wait until both of mine are old enough to do this!

Summer sounds like an amazing young lady and an excellant role model for your little girls.
