Kinda Wordless Wednesday: A Question for Business Owners

Before I show you this week’s Wordless Wednesday photo, I have a quick question…

I haven’t really jumped on the whole “commercialize my blog” bandwagon. Blogs that do reviews every day irritate me. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just not what I want to read about. I don’t have Google ads up, I don’t do sponsored posts. But… having sponsors is SO tempting. Let’s be honest here. We live paycheck to paycheck, trying to provide a wonderful life for our girls at the same time. We are young and just starting out, while trying to raise a family. It’s one of the downfalls of being young parents. We are working hard toward a life of financial freedom but right now, we could always use more money.

So, my question is, if I had some ad spots in a prominent place on my sidebar, for a low monthly fee, would anyone be interested in advertising their business or blog here? I don't even know if my blog is good enough to HAVE ads, which is why I'm asking. If you would, or if you know someone who would, or if you don't have a need to advertise here but would if you needed to, could if you let me know so I can make a decision about whether I want to do that or not? I’d be glad to create a 125x125 banner for you free of charge if you don’t have one. Feel free to comment or e-mail me with any questions you have about it.

Now, let’s get Wordless.

I am really sick of review blogs and giveaway! They seriously make me not want to read them anymore. As far as your advertising question, if I had a business I would do that. I think it's worth trying! I might start an Etsy shop someday and I would be ok with advertising. Whatever you decide just dont do it because you feel like you have to. I love blogging and I think if I started doing sponsors and stuff I would lose my enjoyment.

I don't mind the occasional review and such. When it's all the time then that is kind of a turn off to reading. I don't see anything wrong with having businesses advertise on your blog as long as they are ones your readers might find interesting.

I wish I had advice for you on this one, but I don't. For some professional type advice you could check out Darren, at Problogger... ha ha, so I just googled his site and his post for today is "how to make money blogging." Just google problogger and he has a wealth of info. on ads etc.

I can't stop grinning at your photo... how cute :)
