Eye

On Tuesday morning, I got a call from Joe. He was on a job site, waiting on his supervisor to come pick him up and take him to an urgent care center. Some kind of rubber shower material thing had hit him in the right eye really hard and he was in a lot of pain.

An urgent care visit, a severe corneal abrasion diagnosis, eye-burning drops, headaches, lots of sharp pains and irritation, a follow-up visit, an emergency evening appointment with our eye doctor, 3 1/2 missed days of work – probably unpaid due to workman’s comps policy of having to miss 7 days before you get wages reimbursed – , more burning drops, more headaches, and more pains and irritation later… he is finally feeling like he’s got a right eye again.
