How shall I summarize this?

I am in total heaven right now. I'm laying in bed, with my heating pad under my back, watching Little People Big World, eating a ginormous bowl of neopolitan ice cream covered in mini-marshmallows, and blogging.

Today was a good day. I got plenty of sleep last night, and the kids were good for most of the day. My friend Nicole stopped by this evening to bring Summer and Camryn their Christmas presents. She gave them each 2 pairs of shoes, and then they got a Blue's Clues thing, where a stuffed Blue and her stuffed baby brother talk when you push their stomachs and you can play hide and go seek with them. They also got a big stuffed Winnie the Pooh and a Baby Einstein play center thing. It's really cute. Nicole spoils them a lot :-) She works at a Target that isn't close to our house, and they have different sales there. When their kid shoes went on clearance this past month, she loaded up. My kids have as many shoes as Suri Cruise at this point.

It was COLD today. I believe the high was in the 20's, but the wind chill was probably -10. I was only outside long enough to take the trash and recycling out but that was enough for me. Poor Joe, he had to work outside for more than half the day. I think tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer and then it should be in the 40's on Christmas.

Joe and I have a debate going, and I'd love your input. Joe wants Santa to wrap his gifts. Santa always wrapped gifts in his family. In my family, Santa's gifts were not wrapped. I think there is something about walking in on Christmas morning and seeing a bunch of new toys sitting around the tree that Santa left for you. Seeing wrapped gifts... not so much of an effect. But maybe I'm wrong... all I know is we better hurry up and decide.

I shall leave you with the fire that I enjoyed most of the day today.

My family always wrapped gifts, but I think Brandon's was opposite. We wrap all the gifts in our house though, there was no fighting Brandon on that one b/c I'm the one who does all the wrapping. LOL. Oh and what kind of pests do you have? We have mice...lucky us. I just wrote a blog about our mice problems today. LOL

I know how you are feeling right now....my household is the opposite! My hubby grew up with Santa's presents unwrapped and I grew up with EVERYTHING wrapped. I have come to a conclusion that not everything has to be wrapped even though I would like it to be. My son is 1 and he wouldn't understand either way. I wrapped almost everything. The things that didnt get wrapped were odd shapped toys big bags of legos and his tricycle. I think it was a good compromise and it might help you guys out. Hope you figure it out soon. Merry Christmas!

Do half and half? My family also had ours unwrapped as did DH's.. except for one year when my parents thought it would be fun to wrap them all. We always have them unwrapped except for one or two.. just because when they are little unwrapping is half the fun for the little ones.

My husband and I always had our Santa gifts unwrapped and by the tree as well...that's how we do it now! My boys only get 3 gifts from Santa though (like the 3 wise men's gifts). I wrap everything else, and that is from "Mom and Dad"! That way they get the initial excitement and gratification of seeing new toys and then they get to open (which they LOVE to do). Best of both worlds!!! Good luck deciding!

How about wrap some of Santa's gifts and maybe a couple of them leave out. Compromise, that is the best way to make everyone happy! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. : )

My husbands family did not wrap gifts. My family wrapped Santa gifts but also left some unwrapped or already put together for a combined wow. I still remember the excitement of Christmas morning of tearing off all of the paper to find what was underneath. Maybe do a combination.

It was cold here today too...and I was out and about A LOT. About froze my boobies off, I did. LOL

As for the wrapping thing...we wrap it all. Always have. For us, opening the presents is the fun part. Plus, there's the surprise factor too. :)

But, you could always do a happy medium and wrap some of Santa's presents but leave the others out and open.

XOXO
