Temporary Insanity

My friend Amanda, who I’ve known since high school, and her husband Patrick had plans to visit with an out-of-town friend this past Sunday night. They asked me if their boys (Brayden-3 and Camden-1) could stay here with us. Me being the super nice person that I am said, “Sure!”

Then I looked in the mirror and told myself I had lost my mind.IMG_0876edit It really wasn’t that bad. They are super cute and my girls had so much fun with them. IMG_0880edit The only issue I had was getting them to sit still. The four of them fed off of each other’s energy and didn’t stop. They did sit long enough for me to take a picture while they watched Cars.IMG_0883editI heard Camryn ask Brayden at least 8 times, “Do you want to sit on my lap?” It was adorable… I think.IMG_0890edit

So, they had fun and I am still alive. Barely. The girls and I developed a cold Monday afternoon and now I feel so worn out I’m having trouble typing this right now. It’s my excuse for posting about Sunday on Wednesday.

What am I doing right now, you ask?

The girls are in their room because I caught them trying to eat sour cream out of the carton with spoons. I should have let them eat a spoonful, they never would have tried that one again.

So, I took this opportunity to lay down on my bed and watch TV and blog. I’m not completely lazy though, I dumped the clothes that I need to fold and put away on the bed next to me. It makes me feel like I’ve made progress, since they aren’t in the hamper anymore.

One of two things will happen:

I will get the energy and motivation to fold them and put them away, or they will still be there when Joe wants to go to bed and he will put them back in the hamper and we will repeat the process tomorrow.

I hate laundry. I don’t mind washing them, it’s the whole folding and putting away thing that I strongly dislike. Please tell me, how in the world do you keep up with your laundry and get the motivation to keep up with it?

the only way my laundry gets folded, is if I fold it as I am taking it out of the dryer and then in to the basket, then I just have to put it away! works wonders!

Well I am lucky and have a husband who does laundry a couple of days during the week.

You HAVE lost your mind. Whew!! But what a good friend who are!

I have never been the type to not fold and put the laundry away. I just have always done it. Now, I have a friend who at one point got sooo far behind on her laundry that she finally just gathered all her clothes up and took it to a laundry mat so she could get caught back up!

Ha! Laundry sucks....
I fold as soon as they come out the dryer. Sometimes they stay in the hamper for a week, but they are folded. :)

Omg, Maddie eats sour cream out of the container, lol! And butter. But she's seriously strange. ;-)

You are definitely a good friend. Too bad your not near me or I'd be dropping the three girlies off tonight. ;-)

hahahaha! I do the same thing with the laundry on the bed!...and if I fall asleep before I fold it Chris puts it back in the basket and puts it where I put my feet when I get up. I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief today when I folded and put away the ONLY basket of laundry in the house. I don't think that's happened since Eli was born.

hope all of you are feeling better :)

Oh my I need to live near you since you're so nice :)

As for the laundry - I hate folding and putting away!!!! I need someone else to do that for me - laundry for 6 people just is too much!
