The End of a Season

Yesterday morning, Summer had her last soccer game of this season. She was really excited and ready to kick some 3-year-old butt again this week.

She got to be the kicker for her team several times. (Not sure if “kicker” is the right term)IMG_7152IMG_7160IMG_7154Summer didn’t get any goals this week, but she still played great. A big reason why she wasn’t able to score… the other team had a kid that would get the ball at one end of the field and take it to the other end in a matter of seconds, all the while yelling, “Yay! Yay!” and throwing his hands in the air. It was so cute and funny. Joe said to Summer’s coach, “It’s a real-life Forrest Gump!”

After the game, the kids got Gatorade and snacks, and their coaches gave them medals. Summer is so proud of hers.IMG_7174We are sad that this season is over, but it is the first of many, I think. We are still not sure if she will play tee-ball, but we know she will be playing soccer again. Camryn will be playing, too! All throughout the games, she asked us if she could play.

We celebrated the end of the season with Blizzards. The girls had never had them before, and fell in love right away. Lets just hope they don’t develop my 10pm Blizzard cravings.

Please pay no attention to our horrible porch… it’s under construction.IMG_7179Summer showed us yet again what an amazing kid she is through soccer. Her transformation from a girl who twirled her pigtails and cried during the game to an enthusiastic soccer star was really neat to watch. We are so proud of her!

I'm thinking of putting Keely into soccer in the fall, she's really good at kicking a ball where she wants it to go and her daddy played soccer when he was a kid. Who knows how we'll be on money by then though, but it's a possibility at least.
