“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction” - Winston Churchill

Summer Grace Baby Cakes
has certainly been a labor of love. I have always wanted to have my own business, and love to find outlets for creativity. I came up with the concept and ran with it. I learned a lot in the process. I am pleased with the website I created, and am proud of myself for following through and doing it. It was a success and so worth it.

With that said... I will be closing down the site in a week or so. While it has been fun, I don't think it's the right path for me. The cakes are so expensive to put together that I barely make my money back when they are sold. Plus, they don't sell as fast as I was hoping. I've got quite a few just sitting in my basement.

I know that starting your own business is not easy, and things take time, but even with that in mind, I feel that it's time to try something else. Like my mom said earlier, the things that I learned throughout this process are invaluable and may be the very things that help me achieve something great some day.

I am currently selling all my cakes that have already been made for $25 each in a closeout sale. If you need a baby shower gift, go grab one. If you see one that you like but want more added to it or something changed, let me know.

This door may be closing, but at some point in the near future I will be doing something else. I have some ideas rolling around in my head, so we will see what happens!

For now, I'm going to concentrate on my blog. It's going to be getting a makeover, a new name, and its own domain in the next week or two. While the content will mostly remain the same (kids, kids, pets, husband, house, kids) I will also be writing about other things that I feel strongly about or want to share.

Anyway, I just wanted to share all that with you guys, and thank you for supporting me in my diaper cake venture. Everyone who put the Summer Grace button on your blogs, I really appreciate it! Stick around and enjoy the changes to come. Have a great night!
